25 Years
This last Sunday night, SofterWare (the company behind DonorPerfect), celebrated its 25th year anniversary. Starting with Nathan Relles and working out of his garage 25 years ago, SofterWare has grown to over 150 employees serving over 15000 clients.
There's been a lot of milestones in those 25 years:
- Our first program didn't even need a hard drive- it ran on 8 inch floppy disks that held 128,000 bytes- or less than .00005% of your average hard drive today.
- We developed entry screens that could be changed- by the user and without programming- in our very first version in DOS, that are still the foundation of all our programs today.
- We were one of the first to develop a Windows based fundraising program.
- And finally, we've always been faster than our competitors (perhaps because we're more efficient!).
While we've had a very successful 25 years, we're not resting on our laurels and have some great projects planned. Very soon we'll be releasing our latest upgrade of DonorPerfect Online, which will includes some great new features that I know everyone will love and use. In a couple of months, we'll be offering instant credit card transaction authorization, straight from within DonorPerfect. Finally, automatic address validation and verification is on its way as well.
Here's to the next 25 years!
