Happy Birthday!

While DonorPerfect has been available commercially for almost 20 years, its younger brother DonorPerfect Online turns 5 this month.

Back in 2001 I had no idea where we would be in 5 years. Sure, the business projections went out that far, but they typically get warped the farther out you look because of so many unknown factors. I think the final analysis back then was that we were either going to go broke or sell thousands of systems- somewhere in the middle was certainly bound to happen (and did!).

One thing I do know for certain is that our clients have been successful- very successful indeed- at raising money.

Unlike our traditional desktop software, we are able to accumulate some interesting statistics for DonorPerfect Online. These statistics were aggregated across just our online clients and include only those donors and donations that date back to September, 2001.

So, as of September 1, 2006:

• There are over 3000 individuals that use DonorPerfect Online.
  
• DonorPerfect Online Clients have raised over 5.7 Billion Dollars. (
  $ 5,737,356,502.90 to be exact!)
  
• Our clients track over 7 million donors
  
• The average gift transaction is $519. This is much higher than the median gift size because of several very large transactions.
  
• The median gift transaction is ~$81

I feel privileged to be part of something that is so meaningful. Of course, while we certainly can't take credit for raising these funds, we do hope we are making the job easier for those that do.
