Customizable, Integrated Online Forms with WebLink!

What is WebLink? Besides a cool logo, WebLink empowers all of our clients to add forms to their websites to collect information that automatically integrates with their DonorPerfect Fundraising System. We've been working on WebLink for over a year, and last month we released it to our customers.

In WebLink, you can easily create online forms that can:

  • Capture Volunteer Information
  • Process Online Donations
  • Register Participants for an Event
  • Capture On-line Petitions
  • And much, much, more...
Best of all, you can review the entries, and automatically download them into your DonorPerfect software.

Weblink forms are highly customizable to allow you to collect any data you want. The form(s) can be configured to have the same look and feel as your own web site (by using the same style sheet). Currently we set the forms up for clients, but we are introducing administrative tools to allow clients to adjust the layouts themselves.

Weblink is designed to be the foundation for many other new web-based tools we're developing to allow clients to use their website to enhance constituent interaction and management. I'm really excited about it because WebLink really can take the functionality of your nonprofit's website to the next level!

Survey Says!

Recently, you should have received our annual Customer Survey, and I know you have because the results are pouring in!

If you haven't yet responsded, there's still time. Just click on the link that was included in the email we sent. If you don't think you received the survey email, you can email us at support@donorperfect.com and we'll send you a link to the survey.

So far, we're very pleased with the initial feedback. For instance, we're delighted that over 90% of DonorPerfect Online respondents report that their satisfaction level has increased on stayed the same in the last year.

Besides the ratings, we value the many insights and suggestions (both positive and negative) that we receive. Here's just a few samples:

"With just starting with DPO in June '05, I have been very pleased with everything about it...the ease with which you can retrieve information is great...my last fundraising software was a nightmare, thank you for all of your patience and guidance. I went through a really rough patch with a routing issue and EVERYONE that I came in contact with were very knowledgeable and helpful in solving the problem...once again, Thank You. "

"
I think some of the recent updates to the system should have been tested a little better before releasing the end product to your customers. That said, and in my opinion, DPO is still the best donor management system on the market. "

"We are so new to the system, it is hard to answer all of your questions just yet...we are still trying to figure it all out. Give us a couple of months and then ask again! "

"Marsha High and Chad Kashub are great!"

Again, we're very proud of the results and are actively working to respond to ALL comments- both good and bad- because we believe that's ultimately the best way to improve our software.

We'll also be passing the kudos to Marsha and Chad! Thanks!

Searching...Please wait....

Just recently I was talking with a nonprofit client who asked what seemed like a simple question: "Why can't I search in any field like Google?"

It was a great question, and it led me to some interesting discoveries.

Google and other search engines do a great job of indexing most of the Internet. But they do have a huge advantage- time is on their side. You may not realize it, but changes made to a website's content can takes days (or even weeks) for the pages to show up in the search engine results. The reason is that it takes a VERY LONG time to index all words/phrases in anything (and this includes web pages, documents, and databases).

We could offer full indexing on every field but we know its impractical for users to have to wait for a change to included in their index. We always have to make a trade-off between how much data we index and the speed of entering and retrieving fundraising and donor data. Since the vast majority of times you need to find someone it is by first or last name, phone # or address, DonorPerfect indexes these fields.

However, searching doesn't have to be limited to these fields. Did you know that you can add more fields to our standard search screen?

For example, if you wanted to search on the TYPE of donor (Individual, Company, Organization, etc.), you can add this field to the Search screen.

To add a field, simply click on Utilities, Parameters, Donor Search Fields, and you can add up to 10 additional search fields to the Entry Search Screen.

Of course, you can always use a filter as well, but adding commonly used search fields will make it much easier to search...without waiting...for the results.

LYBUNT, SYBUNT, MYBUNT, Oh My!!!

Now that December is here, it's a perfect time to analyze your donors to find out who hasn't given this year- the results may just surprise you!

DonorPerfect has many reports that analyze your donors' giving patterns. Two of these include the LYBUNT and SYBUNT reports. (I 'invented' MYBUNT in the title to make it sound more catchy.)

Both SYBUNT and LYBUNT are essentially the same report that lists donors and it means:

Last Year But Unfortunately Not This Year

AND

Some Year But Unfortunately Not This Year

Both reports are a great way to identify those donors that gave either Last year, or Some year, and do a targeted mailing towards them, and for some, to simply pick up the phone and give them a call (or email).

To run these reports, simply click on Reports, Financial Reports, and select the LYBUNT or SYBUNT options. You do not need to select a filter (unless you want to filter on larger donors only to actually call).
